We had breakfast at the apartment, finished off our packing and started the journey back to Tirana. Before we set off we had a last look out over Sarande.

As we were packing we discovered another bottle of Raki in the cupboard, so we took it with us.
Once again, the views as we were driving were stunning.

Around midday we stopped for some lunch in a little roadside cafe. I had some tava which was very tasty.

As we continued driving we came across a goat herder and also some horses in the back of a truck.

It took us around 4 hours to drive from Sarande to the Albanian zipline.
This zipline is 1250m long and is the longest zipline in the Balkans. You can see Petrela Castle and it passes over the Erzen River with a ride time of about 2 to 3 minutes.

The zipline was fun and we didnt have to wait very long to have our turn. Nicola had a film from the drone but it wasn’t that good and didn’t actually film the whole flight.
I made a friend with a cute black cat at the top platform.

It was then only a short drive back to Tirana. On the way we had a very nice car driving infront of us.

The hotel we booked was down a one way street with lots of traffic so it took us a while to actually figure out how to get to the hotel entrance.
It was a very nice boutique hotel and our room was very spacious.

After dumping our luggage we dropped the car back – and I told them about the scratches.
We then decided to explore the surrounding area as we were staying the opposite end of the city to previously. We came across an old beetle, Hemingway bar and an old clock tower.

Back at the hotel we freshened up before heading out for dinner. We also met the owners who were very cat friendly and had just got a new kitten.

We ate at one of the restaurants along the main street – teg zgara e tirones. We had a mixture of local tapas dishes.

After dinner we walked back to the Hemingway bar. This is a vintage style bar with a good selection of rums and cocktails, over a 100 different rums are served here. The bar is inspired by Ernest Hemingway who liked to lead a simple life amongst art and culture.

Both Nicola and I chose a rum to try. I had the Abuelo 7 years.

And then it was a walk back to the hotel where we had to finish off the rest of the Raki as neither of us could take it back home with us.
